Ukrainians who were injured during the war with Russia will be taken to Israel for treatment.
It is noted that if the Ukrainian military is wounded among the arrivals, they will receive medical care in Israel on a par with civilians.
This was announced by the Minister of Health Nican Horowitz, who had a video meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Viktor Lyashko, Israeli media reported.
According to local publications, during the conversation, the Ministers of Health of the two countries Viktor Lyashko and Nitsan Horowitz discussed issues related to the export of Ukrainian citizens in need of treatment to the Jewish state. In particular, Lyashko emphasized the request of the Ukrainian side to receive military personnel wounded in battles for treatment. In response, Horowitz said that he does not rule out a positive response to this request. According to the Minister of Health Protection of Israel, his country is ready to accept both injured civilians and military personnel.
Another important topic raised at the talks is the provision of medical care to Ukrainian children with cancer. Viktor Lyashko also said that his country is interested in the supply of medicines from Israel, which are urgently needed by doctors in Ukraine.
“Israel will allocate additional millions of shekels for the purchase of medicines that will be delivered directly to Ukraine. In addition, we will take the wounded out of Ukraine for treatment in Israel at our expense,” Horowitz said.
